Being at least as much of a numbers geek as Nikki (aside: I can&#8217;t be the only one who has spent more than one evening watching <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/numberphile\/\" target=\"_blank\">Numberphile<\/a> videos on YouTube), I thought that was a brilliant idea.<\/p>\n<p>So here&#8217;s a look back at 2013 based on the numbers my logging software has spit out&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2>Mileage<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Total 2013 Mileage: 3023.3km (1878 miles); 52km more than 2012.<\/li>\n<li>Highest Mileage Month: November, 481.1km (299 miles); mostly thanks to Beaststreak.<\/li>\n<li>Lowest Mileage Month: December, 167.9km (104 miles); Dark, cold, wet evenings and no Beaststreak spreadsheet to keep me motivated to get off the couch and do something (feel free to read all that as &#8220;lazy&#8221;).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>My Runs<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Total number of runs: 211<\/li>\n<li>Total number of treadmill runs: 16 for 120km<\/li>\n<li>Longest distance run: 63.3km (39.3 miles) at Connemara Ultramarathon<\/li>\n<li>Total time on my feet: 332:53:39<\/li>\n<li>Total &#8220;stopped&#8221; time: 11:02:31 (this is things like standing at stop lights)<\/li>\n<li>Total elevation: 44,457m (145,856ft) climbed, 32,784m (107,559ft) descended; I&#8217;m sure most of the difference is from going up the Grouse Grind and coming back down on the gondola.<\/li>\n<li>Total Calories: 211,214 (or over 1400 post run Starbucks lattes)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>My Races<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Total race starts: 20<\/li>\n<li>Total race finishes: 17\n<ul>\n<li>Ultramarathons: 5<\/li>\n<li>Marathons: 7<\/li>\n<li>Half Marathon: 2 (1 road half, 1 24K trail run)<\/li>\n<li>10km: 3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Total DNF: 3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Destinations<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Calgary, AB<\/li>\n<li>Carmel, CA<\/li>\n<li>Cool, CA<\/li>\n<li>Phoenix, AZ<\/li>\n<li>Seattle, WA<\/li>\n<li>Maam Cross, Ireland<\/li>\n<li>Tacoma, WA<\/li>\n<li>Victoria, BC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Personal Bests<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Half Marathon: 1:42:12<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nikki (Slow is the New Fast) came up with the idea of looking back at 2013 by the numbers.
